Make Your Own Door Wreath In 2 Easy Steps

Learn how to make a stunning door wreath with just a few materials and some creativity. Whether you’re a seasoned crafter or a beginner, you’ll be able to create a unique wreath that adds a personal touch to your front door. The best part is it’s inexpensive and can hang on your door through any season!

Supplies You’ll Need:

grapevine wreath (choose a size that best fits your door, I went with 18″)

moss (try to look for a variety bag so that your wreath has more character)

hot glue gun and hot glue gun sticks

drop cloth, old newspapers/ magazines (for easy clean up)

wreath hook

optional: green floral wire and scissors

  1. First, gather all materials and lay out your drop cloth or old newspaper because this will get messy. Place the grape vine wreath on your drop cloth and begin to lay the moss onto the vine wherever you like. Make sure to cover the entire face of the vine and consider covering a good bit of the sides. Once the placement of the moss on the vine is the way you like it, begin to glue the moss to the vine. Be meticulous and use plenty of glue because the wreath needs to sustain wind and the opening of the door.
  2. Once all the moss is secure with glue, clean up the long strands of clear glue that can be left over after using a hot glue gun. Next, take your wreath and hold it upright. If moss falls off, repeat the process with glue. Finally, your beautiful wreath is complete and ready for display. Personalize it with ribbon or any other additions that you like!
Optional Tip

Floral wire is optional but can be used as reinforcement for attaching the moss to the wreath. This can be done by wrapping the wire around the vine, first clockwise, and after in a counterclockwise motion to create several “x” shapes. This will help with a more sturdy hold of the moss and reinforce the glue since the vine is not flat. Make sure to cover the wire on the sides of the vine with moss if you choose this option.
